Baseball Little League Sport.
. Came about in the
tear 1999, with only one objective in mind, which was to contribute to the
physical and mental well being of our children, without racial, sexual,or
religious discrimination. Since then, we have worked with over two thaousand
kids. We are proud to say that some of our kids got the chance to pursue their
dreams, and attend college with the help from scholarships that were given to
them across their talents and well-developed skills and others have achieved of
getting to the major leagues. Most of the kids participating in our league today
are young students who are preparing themselves, and are on their way to
achieving greatness in the career of their choice.
We feel proud of what we have
achieved throughout all these years, although we have had to battle though many
financially based difficulties. We never had back-up money, and in some cases
we even had to sacrifice our own money for the well being of the league.
Nevertheless, we will keep on working hard, because we fell it is our duty ( as
members of the community) to remove as many kids as possible from street life,
and try to make them better people. The way we see it is that if we succeedd
in making our children better people then we are already creating a better
society, because they are our future. That is one of our goals, and we will
lean most of our focus towwards making it happen.
Achievements:
Caribe Baseball Little League Sport is the biggest little league organization in
the Bronx. In 1999, we were working with 41 teams, each of them consisting of
15 players ranging from the ages of four to eighteen. The following year we
dealt with 37 teams, and then on 2001 we worked with 38 teams, 36 teams on 2002,
35 teams on 2003, 45 teams on 2004, 43 teams on 2005, and 40 teams in 2006. We
estimate that we will work with 45 teams on 2007.
In the mentined period of
time, we have won two state championships in the International Cal
Ripken Tournament for the 7 and 8 year olds’ division. We have also won
two championships for 11 and 12 year olds’ category, in the same
organization.
Dreams: Our most desired dream is to keep on
working with the children, but soon enough we won’t be able to without
any financial help. We work with a high porcentage of single mothers,
and with families with a low economic status.
We know that education must come first, but we believe that
our job will help these kids grow up to be hard working people in our
society. We try to offer them the best protection and security possible.
If those who are able to help us will make an effort to do so, then you
can be sure that Caribe Baseball Little League will keep on doing its
job as enthusiastically as they are doing it now, but with the
reassurance that the organization will become much better
